I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix * [" Z7 X( }* y: s" Z% ]7 ~/ l% M9 @: d9 V
